THANK YOU ♥️ for the kind and thoughtful birthday wishes. For taking the time to send a message, write a message, or call. Your kind words meant more than you’ll ever know. I woke up yesterday morning and told Jesus that I needed some encouraging kind words. The year of 52 was pretty isolated for me in comparison to my normal life. A tough one but a necessary one for learning and growth. But that can be quietly lonely and we forget how much we really need each other. We need to hear kind words, and it was SUCH a sweet reminder of how important it is to take the time to be that kind word to the next person. And so thankful for this gracious kind Josh who holds my hand every day and has been my partner in the most perfect timing. Thank you again ♥️

Imperfections, historic character, and collected looks just add to the love within the walls. Give me old any day 🤍 it’s what inspires me in the creating and building of the new.

Had to say goodbye to my BEST little friend of eighteen years yesterday. Alley otherwise known as Big Worm n Allison Janet was the sweetest gift I’ve ever been given. Words don’t describe the unconditional sweet love given to us by our little companions. Not a day will go by that I’m not missing my little bit. I sure hope she’s in my dad’s lap now and in the best of hands. ♥️

It’s called slow decorating in the age of instant design. Taking time to put a home together is far more rewarding in the end. Enjoy the process, save and select with intention, collect as you go, and let it evolve with you as you grow. In the end it will be an effortless look in a collected space with a story far more meaningful.

Most of these pieces have found me honestly, and I’ve got a way to go! But the unhurried pace has been a great teacher.

I’m not a sentimental person for the most part, but there’s something about a Christmas tree that makes me all soft inside. It represents sweet memories, great trips, and funny things I like to recall. The older I get, the more I appreciate these little things.

Why is there an ice cream truck on the tree?! Because at 5pm every day when I was a kid it came screaming down the street fast enough to teach me how to run well! Of course mom was busy making dinner and secretly loathing him, knowing that he showed up at the wrong time every day so I could argue with her over why I should eat a screwball for dinner instead of chicken!

And a skinny leg unicorn in a tutu? Well that’s me: I’m a unicorn of sorts. A southern gal not married, no kids, do what I love for work every day, and despite all I’ve been through I live a really unique and lovely life!

The many birds are for my Granny because she told me the sweetest little stories about birds when I was a little girl trying to go to sleep. I thought birds went to school and brushed their teeth and read books! At least for a minute I did!

Some ornaments represent my favorite travel spots: London and Paris will always be at the top of the list! Seriously, there’s not a better city than London! Try me!

Whatever the memory, a tree can tell a really beautiful story of someone if you look close enough. Send me your favorite ornament and tell me why…I’d love to learn something about you that I didn’t know!

I hope everyone had a beautiful love filled holiday! It’s always hard for me to come home and leave my family, but it’s super sweet to return home to this ‘little’ bit.

Just wanted to take a minute to say: If I worked with you in your home this year, thank you for the opportunity. If I spent time with you as a friend this year, thank you for making the time. If you suffered a loss this year, please know I’m going to continue praying for you. If I traveled with you this year, thank you for the sweet memories. If I told you I love you this year, then know that I love you next year too!

I love a change of season! It’s like hitting a reset button!
Even the sunlight hits different in a home as the sun begins to set earlier.
So grateful for this ‘never going to be finished’ home. It’s full of joy and goodness and a fat lazy cat somewhere. Who cares if I regularly dance around the dining table with no chairs?! It’s home and I have fun here!

This little den has already made some great memories. Love and laughter, great music, movie nights, cheese plates, dinner out of cardboard boxes with linen napkins, blankets piled high, and multiple spills…we always gravitate to the smallest coziest room in the house!
Even the bookshelves are starting to tell a story as they are edited. I love how spaces evolve not just in design but in life itself. The heart of a home is truly the love and the joy inside of it.

Sunday sunlight in my joy filled home….I can have the privilege of traveling to the prettiest places in the world, but to return home to a joy and peace filled home is truly the best gift ever. I smile every time I turn a corner in this house, I don’t deserve such a space. It’s not the fanciest nor is it completed (designers are never finished) but it’s a gift. And I’m grateful it’s home.

Can we talk about how cute this Crestline renovation turned out?! What a beautiful collaboration and a patient project it was. I’ll share the darling interior pics as we wrap it up- furniture trickles in these days!

I said I was going green and I meant it! (The hot pink door just felt like the right pairing lol)

One of the most interesting classes in design school to me was the psychology of color and how it affects us.

Green is a color the creates balance between the head and the heart. It’s a color of equilibrium, growth, renewal, and rebirth. Coming to this home feels like renewal and a fresh new chapter for me, so I chose it for that reason.

Besides the fact, the green makes me smile because it reminds me of my delightful Meme! Happy Saturday!!

Just a friendly reminder that color is BACK! It’s the roaring twenties, and I love that many are embracing a powerful dose of color these days, even in cabinetry and tile!

Don’t get me wrong, I still love a clean and calming approach to designing a space and always will. But oh what a delight a colorful space is in a home! This sun filled den was lots of fun to create!
